Rift has a wide wide selction of pvp gear. For each set of pvp gear there is pve gear. all the way up to level 50 they will be located in the general same area. PVP vendors are always located right next to and/or near the RARE planar goods salesman. Even though it may say Rare it does not actually mean its hard to find. Valor What is it? Valor is a way for you to reduce the damage you take in PVP.
Vengeance What is it? Vengeance is a way for you to increase the damage you do to other players without the need for any other stats. So keep in mind, if you want more damage reduction only in PVP get Valor, if you Want to do more damage to them Try to focus on Vengeance. You can buy PVP gear pretty much all the time in set increments, but i would recommend to wait to level 60 or buy 60 level pvp gear when you can while leveling to 60. Each PVP gear uses the same currency until you get to 60, until then it uses the currency Favor. When you hit level 50, you start earning what is known as prestige, however until level 60 you can only go to prestige 50. Prestige is pretty much your level in PVP, it allows you to get better gear when you hit 60. Now since RIFT went free to play, you can buy mercenary gear and Freelancer gear. Mercenary gear is usable right when you hit 60, however Freelancer gear is usable when you have 60 Prestige, but you need 70 prestige for the Weapons! However at this same exact time, you can start buying Warlord Armor, and when you reach 80 Prestige you can finally buy Warlord weapons. A PVP sigil should be sold in your home city pvp vendors! Mercenary essences are afforded with 21k favor and 1200 infinity stones, while the next step Freelancer essences are bought with 2160 Freelancer Mark Of Conquest and 4800 infinity stones.
Item Enchants are sold both in Home city and in Tempest bay to upgrade you stats even more.
